3 Apps for Productivity

Here are 3 apps I find particularly useful for productivity:

Google Tasks - a free cross-platform app that's great for simple to-do lists and reminders.

Serene - is a super app for anyone who is looking to develop their ability to do deep work. It gives you space to set out your main tasks for the day, and then crucially sets a timer for once you start... so, you're on the clock! The key feature of serene is its ability to block distracting apps and websites - such as social media or internet browsers. Also, what I really like about it is the accountability it gives you. After you finish the session, it asks you how it went: done, half-done, not done, forcing you to confront your own level of productivity. It is a paid app, but I reckon it's worth the investment for most people, considering that your concentration and productivity are so important for success in any job.

And finally, if you find you're a little addicted to your mobile phone, and I definitely fall into this category, I recommend using an app called Freedom, which comes on all devices. It's used for blocking any and all distracting apps on your phone and your computer while you work and it's truly superb. I feel I'm scrapped back some time I was losing both personally and professionally. Time being one of our most precious resources... You will have to pay for it, but again, I think the benefits outweigh the costs.
