Creating a vision board

What’s your plan for 2020? Have you got a clear vision in your head? For me, that’s always the first part. If I don’t know what I’m trying to achieve, it’s impossible for me to make a plan around that. So the first thing to do is review the various goals you’d like to achieve (e.g. career, relationship, financial, health, adventure, contribution) and create a vision board. Here is more on the type of goals you could set: 5 Key Goals

Create a vision board using Google Photos

(A collage is a group of photos combined into one photo.)

  1. On your phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app.

  2. Sign in to your Google Account.

  3. At the bottom, tap For You.

  4. Choose the Collage option.

  5. Select the photos that you want in your collage.

  6. At the top-right, tap Create.

  7. Save it as your phone’s wallpaper.

What should I put on the vision board?

  • Photos of what you’d like to have

  • Favourite quotes that inspire you

  • Plans or goals for the year

  • Anything else that you’d like to focus on

Does this actually work?

Yes! Ask anyone who uses vision boards and you’ll get a resoundingly positive answer. I was skeptical at first, but the more I learn about them and use them, the more convinced I become. That’s why I wrote this blog: One fine day. Also, here is a nice TED Talk which emphasizes the effect of the Reticular Activating System on our daily lives. That’s the science behind it. The Reticular Activating System (RAS) is a bundle of nerves at our brainstem that filters out unnecessary information so the important stuff gets through. But first, we have to tell our brain what the important information is so that it can filter the rest. It’s like having a shopping list in the supermarket - it reminds you what you really need so that you can filter out everything else.
